All-New TODAY Cafe Coming to Universal Orlando Resort (1)

ORLANDO, Fla. (Feb. 26, 2019) – Well it seems that the rumors are true. The TODAY Cafe will soon make its way to Universal Orlando Resort’s neck of the woods. The cafe will bring together a highly-themed environment designed to feel like stepping onto the iconic TODAY show set along with specialty food and beverage options.

Universal’s Creative team and Universal’s award-winning culinary team are partnering closely with TODAY. The anchors of the show, Savannah Guthrie, Hoda Kotb, Al Roker, Carson Daly, Craig Melvin, Kathie Lee Gifford, Sheinelle Jones, Dylan Dreyer, Willie Geist, and others, helped to inspire the one-of-a-kind experience that will only be found at Universal Studios Florida.

The Today Cafe Standout Menu

One of those standout features on the TODAY Cafe menu will be seasonal dishes inspired by co-anchor Al Roker’s favorite recipes. Everyday menu options will include fresh, in-house baked pastries, salads, sandwiches and specialty, locally-roasted coffees including a unique blend made exclusively for the TODAY Cafe.

Guests can grab items on-the-go, or enjoy their meal any time of the day at seating both inside and outside in an area designed to look like the TODAY Plaza.

Vegan Sandwich
Oven roasted Portobello mushrooms, peppers, zucchini, carrots, vegan jalapeno cheese, sundried tomato pesto on cranberry artisan bread
Organic Acai Bowl
Fresh fruits and mixed varieties of cereals.

The Cafe will also offer specialty breakfast options like avocado toast (hopeful it can be made vegan) and an organic acai bowl. There is also  New York-inspired sandwiches and salads.

Located just inside the iconic arches and across the street from the Universal Studios Store this will give guest a prime location to grab breakfast, lunch or a snack before or after enjoying a day at the park.

Seeing more and more vegan/plant-based options coming to more locations around Universal Orlando Resort speaks volumes on how hard the culinary team continues to take dining experiences to the next level. By creating highly-themed environments that tell unique stories through food gives guest a more welcome feeling when dining.  As a plant-based foodie, I am more than excited to taste not only what the NEW Today show cafe will have to offer, but also the new menu options throughout the park that are vegan-friendly.

From award-winning restaurants to magnificently-themed eateries, there is truly something to eat for every member of the family at one of the destination’s three theme parks, Universal CityWalk and the growing amount of resort hotels.

The Today Cafe Dining Experience

The cafe is designed to resemble Studio 1A in New York City where TODAY broadcasts daily. Vibrant orange awnings and large floor-to-ceiling windows will line the outside of the cafe, as well as outdoor seating meant to look like the TODAY plaza. All it’s missing is a guy holding a sign to get on the air?! HMMMM

Inside, your experience continues as you step into the stage lighting and TODAY’s vibrant orange theming.  So if you are one that likes to start their day getting caught up on the top headlines, you can sit down and enjoy your cup of coffee and a bite to eat as the cafe air TODAY’s live broadcast.  And if you are one that likes to take in the fourth hour of TODAY, there will be wine and beer on tap, as well as other themed lunchtime snacks. Guest can also plan on trying one of the standout features of the TODAY Cafe menu, which will be seasonal dishes inspired by a TODAY personality.

Opening is scheduled for early spring.
